2011 Once Upon a Time Challenge

I know it's only been a couple of days since I accepted two challenges, but I've decided to participate in another one! Alyssa, my counterpart at The Lit Express, was invited to the 2011 Once Upon a Time Challenge on Goodreads and told me about it. As The Lit Express's very own book-challenge doer, I feel like it is my duty to do the challenges the others do, so I'm in!

2011 Once Upon a Time Challenge hosted by Crazy Book Slut

This challenge is quite simple..... read the fairy tales you grew up reading but from another view than Disney's version. There are so many great fairy tale books out there, that might take the same story we know but with an added twist.

These books can be Young Adult, Romance, Erotic, e-books, audio books.... your only limited by your own imagination.

Levels:

* 1-3 books: Born into Royalty

*4-6 books: Princess in Training

*7-9 books: Awaiting Prince Charming

* 10+ books: Queen Bee

The time frame for this challenge will be January 1, 2010- December 31, 2010. Plenty of time. Please do not start this challenge before the time, and don't use books you have already read. Cross overs are okay!

Challenge 2: 2011 Audio Book Challenge

I know, I know. I just entered a challenge! Well, since this is my blogging debut, I've decided to enter a second. So here we go, the second challenge:

The 2011 Audio Book Challenge will run from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.

Levels:

Curious: 3 Audio Books

Fascinated: 6 Audio Books

Addicted: 12 Audio Books

Obsessed: 20 Audio Books

Choose your level of participation and add your name. Over the course of the year I'm going to try to put together some fun things. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

Challenge 1: Whisper Stories in My Ear

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I can't tell you how excited I am to start these challenges with you. If you want to know more about me and my home blog please visit The Lit Express. Alright, the first challenge is:

1) Your goal is to read at least twelve (12) audiobooks (no matter the length). Twelve is the minimum to be entered in the Grand Prize at the end of the Year.

2) Although one review is the minimum to be entered, the more reviews you post each month the more chances you get to win the monthly prize. The monthly prizes includes gift cards from where you can buy audiobooks - like Amazon, iTunes, Barnes&Nobles and Audible. Plus, we will also have some MP3 players in the monthly prizes and other stuff that has something to do with audiobooks. You know how we Bookworms like to get creative with the prizes....

3) Throughout the year, as you add your reviews in, you'll be eligible for level badges based on how many hours of audiobook listening you've logged.

We'll unveil those images as we go, but the levels are as follows:

100 hours: Whispering My Love

200 hours: Can't Keep Quiet

300 hours: Singing It From The Mountain Tops

400 hours: Megaphone Shout

4) Sign up for the challenge before January 1st and get entered to win an introductory account at Audible with two free downloads. Winner will be announced January 1st so you can start listening right away!

400 hours, of course! I think I can do it. I'm ready to listen to some books! I don't have a list of books I'm going to read just yet, but I'll keep you posted. :)
